Cranberry Meatballs
Here is another of my favourite appetizers for potlucks that is pretty easy to make and people love it every time! My co-workers request it whenever we have a potluck. One time I brought another dish in this same container (I think it was veggie chili!) and they were bitterly disappointed when I opened it up and it wasn't meatballs. The flavours are great mix of sweet salty and fruity.
Meatballs
2 1/2 pounds of lean ground beef
2 slices of bread, ripped into tiny pieces
2 eggs
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Sauce
1 can cranberry sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Mix all meatball ingredients and form into golf ball sized balls and bake on a cookie sheet at 350F for about 20 minutes just until cooked through
Mix all sauce ingredients in a small saucepan and cook until well mixed and simmer for a few minutes
Pour sauce over the meatballs and bake in a casserole dish, covered for about 45 minutes, stirring once to distribute the sauce. You can uncover them for the last 10 minutes to caramelize the sauce a bit and make it thicker
